Hiking club events – hikes, meetings, parties – are shown in the monthly calendar, upcoming events list, and a complete list of this season’s hikes at the bottom of this page.

How to Sign up for Hike

      1. Before signing up for a hike, be sure to determine if the hike is appropriate for you!  Read the specific hike description in the Hike Library  to make sure it is a match for your skill level and physical ability.  After a conversation with a hiker or based on recent experience, a hike facilitator may recommend that said hiker not join the hike.
      2.  Sign up by following the links in the calendar below for the hike i.e. click on “Signup/Cancel”.  Unless otherwise noted, hike signups ends by 6 pm of the day before a hike.
      3. If a hiker needs to cancel on a hike that he/she has signed up for and if it is before the stated time cutoff, go to the “Signup/Cancel” for the hike and mark “I need to cancel”.  If it is after stated cutoff,  hiker needs to contact the hike facilitator directly.
      4. If a hike facilitator or coordinator decides to cancel a hike (due to weather or otherwise), an email will be sent out by 7 am on the day of the hike.  Hikers should always check  their emails before leaving for the meet up.
      5. At the discretion of the hike facilitator and when permitted by the local regulations, dogs may be invited on hikes.  See  TD Hiking FAQ

    Note: A hidden jewel with forests, meadows, woodlands, and hopefully fields of wildflowers. Optional loop through Antone Meadows Regional Preserve for those who wish a longer hike. This is a State Park, so no dogs.
     
    There are 2 options for the trailhead.  This hike is expected to use Option 2 in the Hike Library (Tahoe XC), but Brenda will contact participants ahead of time to confirm the trailhead. based on current conditions.

  • Elizabethtown Meadows Lake Loop BLUE Hike

    Comments: We will stay together on this early season hike. Once we arrive at Lake Ella, we will take Bill's trail to the intersection of Erica's trail, reach a lovely overlook, and then continue on Erica's trail down to the Sawmill Trail and return via the Elizabethtown Trail to NorthStar. The total elevation gain is 1,000 ft. The flowers should be in full bloom.

Start of Season Potluck

The Start of Season Potluck is typically held in May to kick off the hiking season. There is usually a brief update of club activities and business.  We can all discuss the winter past and look forward to our summer fun.

This fun potluck is held mid-summer in conjunction with a hike.  Typically held in July.

Annual Members Meeting and Potluck

The Annual Member’s Meeting and Potluck is typically held in October.  This is the one formal meeting for the club where club business is conducted and elections are held.

Hike Planning Meetings

Each hiking group holds a planning meeting before the start of the season .  The meeting dates will  be posted on the calendar and club members will be notified by email.  Typically held in April or May.
